"Halloween" is the Eve of All Saint's Day and is, in the Christian tradition a time of honoring the dead who have been great examples of Christian living. The current emphasis of All Hallows' Eve in many countries comes from a pre- Christian Celtic tradition of a day when the boundaries between the living and the dead are erased and the dead can cause mischief. To all our trick or treaters out there:
Have a happy and safe Halloween!
From ghoulies and ghosties and long leggity beasties and things that go bump in the night, good Lord deliver us! -- An old Scottish Prayer
